Warships, missiles and spy planes: Indian Armed Forces were set to achieve another RS 1 Lakh Crore increase. What is coming

Warship Project gets the biggest share
The largest of the approved projects is for the domestic construction of 12 counter -precautionary vessels (MCMVs), which is estimated to have a cost of 44,000 CRORE. According to official sources quoted by TOI, the construction of ships will take about ten years. Every ship weighing 900 to 1,000 tons will be equipped to detect and neutralize underwater mines that may threaten transport lanes and ports.
Currently, the Indian Navy does not have special mines scanning ships and uses limited clips on existing ships. This new project aims to fill this gap, especially as maritime activity increases in the Indian Ocean region, including China and Pakistan’s joint maritime activities.
Fast Report Air Defense for Army and Air Force
The Ministry of Defense also approved the supply of 36,000 Crore of LA Missile (QRSSAM) systems to the air. The systems developed by DRDO will be deployed in three fleets for three regiments and air forces for the army.
Missiles can seize enemy planes, drones and helicopters in a 30 -kilometer range. According to defense sources, Ordu Air Defense (AAD) requires a total of 11 QRSSAM regiments. These systems are expected to develop an air defense network, which plays a role in Sindoor operation against drones and missiles used in hostilities between May 7 – May 10th.
Sensitive Surveillance for Air Force
Another approval includes the purchase of three Istar (intelligence, surveillance, targeting and discovery) aircraft with a 10,000 Crore budget. These aircraft will support high -precision targeting by identifying enemy positions and assets on the ground. Platforms will carry sensors developed by DRDO, including synthetic diaphragm radars and optical imaging systems. These systems will give Indian Air Force more aware of real -time intelligence and enemy movements and positions.
NEW Underwater and Marine Systems Approved
The Ministry also cleared the proposal to supply autonomous ships that can be subsidized for surveillance. These ISR (intelligence, surveillance and discovery) platforms will be developed under the Make-II category, which means that they will be built by the industry without government financing.
Two more marine approvals include anchoring sea mines designed by DRDO, which can be triggered by sound, magnetic or pressure signals when 76mm main pistols-and enemy ships used on surface ships approach.
Other systems and integrated inventory upgrades
Additional openings include the supply of armored rescue tools and electronic war systems aiming to increase the durability of operational support and war area. In order to improve the coordination and logistics between the army, navy and the air force, a three -service integrated inventory management system has also approved.
A specific date has not been announced as to when these projects will be finalized. According to the Defense Acquisition Procedure (DAP), each AON must undergo multiple steps such as technical assessment, financial approvals and seller selection.
