Chandigarh: On Thursday, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema claimed that since April 2022 since April 2022, the AAP Government has received only 1,582 RS under the center of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) because it targeted BJP for “embarrassing”.
Cheema’s words came with the AAP government faced questions from the 12,000 RS Disaster Aid Fund from the opposition parties, including BJP.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already announced 1,600 RS financial aid for Punjab in addition to the 12,000 RS Crore in the state’s cat.
BJP leader Tarun Chugh asked the state government on Thursday where 12,000 RS SDRF was, the President of the Punjab Congress Amrinder Singh Raja Warring asked the mann distribution on Wednesday and claimed that he had directed the money to other heads.
Punjab Minister Cheema returned to BJP and accused of trying to spread the wrong propaganda to the AAP government via SDRF.
Cheema claimed that BJP was “deliberately misleading” about the disaster funds of the public.
“BJP leaders are shamelessly watching the AAP government. The real is now the public property of every ruup that is taken and spent from SDRF at the moment. Unlike BJP for deception and deflection, we believe in transparency and accountability.”
Chema, who shared the details of SDRF funds from the center on a yearly basis, said that the state government received 208 RS in 2022-23 and spent 61 RS Crore.
In 2023-24, the state received 645 RS and spent 420 RS RS in 2024-25. The Minister said that 241 RS Crore and RS 140 Crore were spent in 2025-26.
“From April 1, 2022 to September 10, 2025, the Punjab government received a total of 1,582 RS from the Indian Government within the scope of the SDRF. In addition, RS 649 Crore is already spent for various relief and rehabilitation studies throughout the state, while the remaining SDRF balances are used for flood balances.
“Those who do not stop for Punjab and have no right to question us. They are conducting a malicious campaign, they keep real facts, and in times of crisis, people are not just responsible, but not embarrassing even according to BJP’s standards.”
