Pete Doherty is playing in non -league football for Margate FC

Musician Pete Doherty took Margate FC as a captain as a friend, while the first out of the league football made his first exit.
For Libertines, a sponsored by Margate FC, the singer and guitarist signed a hut to take part in the matches against Tonbridge Angels on Saturday.
Wearing a number 10 and a brown hat, Doherty played about five minutes before silenced to perform a sound control in near Dreamland before a concert.
Ricky Owen, the president of Margate FC, said: “It was probably better than we dreamed of when we started bringing it together.”
Margate, who lost 3-2, welcomed approximately 600 spectators to the game.
Owen said: “I’m not sure that we see the best of football skills, I’m not sure that things are long enough to show what is about that side, but apparently he became a player during the day.
“But it was a great way to start before the season, something different for our supporters, a little fun and really good for our first game.”
Libertines, the club’s main shirt sponsor in 2018, has a hotel in the region.
Owen said: “The reaction in our social, reaction to the social of Libertines who spoke with people on the ground yesterday, reports from our media team were only taken positively against the board of directors.”
When asked that Doherty could play again for the Isthmian League for the South East Division-Club, Mr. Owen said: “Never say never.”
