A central New York man is currently in custody to convert a fraudulent control of $ 1.7 million to Bitcoin (BTC).
According to the official zone of the rhode Island court documentsTushal Rathod was accused of wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy to launder money.
Court documents show a declaration of FBI private agent Samuel Morgan’s statement that detares Rathod’s claims.
From 2022 to 2024, Morgan claims that Rathod has collected about $ 2 million for fraudulent cheats and work E -Post Reconciliation (Bec).
According to the declaration,
“During a Bec, scammers receive a login identity of the E -Posta account of a business E -Posta account. Usually, identity information is obtained during the ‘Spearphing’ cyber campaign.”
In a Bec, thieves use identity information stolen to monitor e-mail transactions and step into fraudulent communication on sensitive issues such as approaching financial transactions. Becs sometimes include even malware.
It is claimed that Rathod later spread fraudulent funds to seven accounts in six different banks. In addition, most of these funds were transformed into BTC.
It was claimed that Rathod worked with several common conspirators and received different names for different people.
Says Morgan,
“In my education and experience, I know that fraudsters and fraudsters and individuals working with a wide money laundering network are often working with a wide money laundering network to help ‘clean’ funds and then to re -integrate ‘cleaned’ funds into the economy.
Rathod was arrested and lined up last Wednesday. He is still waiting for the arrest hearing in custody.
