Ins Androth, the second domestic asw shallow water craft, delivered to the navy

New Delhi: Androth, Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (Grse), which supported India’s anti -submarine war capability, was delivered to the Indian Navy, the second submarin war (ASW SWC), built by Kolkata.

ASW SWC ships have been designed and built in GRSE in accordance with the Classification rules of Indian shipping registration (IRS). They improve the navy’s anti -submarine, coastal surveillance and mined laying capabilities.

The name Androth is of strategic and symbolic importance from Androth Island in the archipelago of Lakshadweep, and underlines the commitment to protecting India’s large maritime regions. These ships, which are about 77 meters long, are the largest Indian sea warships driven by the diesel engine -sujet combination. Equipped with the latest technology light torpedo, domestic Asw rockets and advanced shallow water sonar, which makes it possible to submarine and participate in littoral areas.

“Androth’s delivery is another milestone in the search for the Indian Navy in search of domestic ships, maintains the government’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. With more than 80 percent domestic content, it stands as a proof of reducing increasing domestic capabilities and dependence on imports,” he said.
