IMD declared orange warnings in nine regions in Kerala on 20 July

The Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) predicts heavy rainfall in nine regions in Kerala on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malackpuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasardode declared an orange warning.

IMD, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kottayam regions isolated heavy rainfall (yellow warning).

A depression on the northeast Rajasthan and adjacent Uttar Pradesh catalyzed the current intense rain spell against Kerala. IMD will probably update the weather forecast for Kerala at 13:00
