The former England captain has the most runs against India in Test cricket, smashing the 3000-run mark.

Joe Root is head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to run-scoring against India. The 34-year-old is ahead of Ricky Ponting and former teammate Alastair Cook. Among active cricketers, Steve Smith is the only player in top 5. The England star also has 10 centuries against India, the second most behind Smith (11).
