DUE, Tilak Clink Asia Cup 2025 Tension at the end of the championship

The recitation of Sanju Samson and Shivam erected vital partnerships with Sanju Samson and Shivam to seal India against Pakistan.
Tilak Varma scored a scintillating half-century as India clinched a final over win against Pakistan in the Asia Cup Final on Sunday. Chasing 147 to win, Varma held his nerve with cameos from Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube to see India over the line. It is India’s 9th Asia Cup title, and their 8th consecutive win over Pakistan.
Here, at Insidesport.IN, we look at the IND vs PAK Highlights:
Tilak Varma comes clutch
Tilak Varma came into bat with his side in trouble. India had slipped to 10/2 and 20/3 in a tricky chase. The left-hander stitched a vital partnership with Sanju Samson to bat his side out of trouble. The Mumbai Indians star focused on rotating strike and taking the game deep. Post the halfway stage, Varma flicked the switch to get some vital runs quickly. He eventually reached his half-century of 41 balls, but offered no celebration, knowing the job at hand. He struck 2 sixes of Haris Rauf in the last few overs to eventually seal India yet another title. Tilak is amongst India’s finest cricketing talents and he showcased it on the biggest stage against Pakistan.
Shivam Dube shines in Hardik absence
India were jotled on the eve of the IND vs PAK game with Hardik Pandya ruled out with injury. Gautam Gambhir and Suryakumar Yadav opted for an extra batter with Shivam Dube trusted to bowl with the new ball. The CSK all-rounder bowled a tight spell at the top and finished with figures of 0/23 in his 3 overs.
However, it was with the bat that Dube made the biggest impact. Walking in with India needing in excess of 9 an over, the left-hander scored a quick-fire 33. He stitched a vital partnership with Tilak to bring the equation down to 10 needed off the final over. Dube has grown into his role this Asia Cup and is now a vital part of India’s t20i set up. He is yet to lose a T20I clash in India colours.
Kuldeep Yadav runs riot
Kuldeep Yadav had a forgettable day for most his spell. The left-arm leg-spinner had conceded 28 in his 2.4 overs, with Pakistan openers Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman going strong. Kuldeep however turned the game on its head. He struck on the penultimate ball of his third over, sending Saim Ayub back to the pavilion.
Kuldeep had triggered the collapse but his job was not. Bowling his final over, Yadav sent Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha, Shaheen Afridi, and Faheem Ashraf. He ended with figures of 4/30, taking his tally to 17 wickets in Asia Cup 2025.
