BENGALURUURU UNDER 4,500 ELECTRICAL BUSES UNDER THE E-Drive scheme

The city will receive a significant support in green public transportation vehicles with the allocation of 4,500 electric buses under the PM E-Drive plan of the Union government.
Development follows a country -wide tender floating by LTD (CESL) by LTD (CESL) of the center, which enters the gross cost agreement (GCC) model according to the Ministry of Heavy Industry.
The CES tender, which was published last month, aims to supply, operate and maintain 10,900 electric buses in five big cities and are planned to take the biggest share of Bengaluru alone. The tender also includes the development of supportive infrastructure such as charging stations and related civilian affairs.
In May, the Karnataka government submitted an official proposal to the sponsored plan as the center of the state.
Transportation Minister Ramalinga Redy personally presented the request for heavy industries and steel HD Kumaraswamy Union Minister, emphasizing the need to improve public transport in urban areas such as Bengaluru.
Responding to the demand of the state, Mr. Kumaraswamy was sure that Karnataka would be allocated a bus under the plan.

The discussions between the central and participatory government governments continue to conclude the necessary infrastructure plans, including bus warehouses, charging points and maintenance facilities.
In September 2024, the Union Cabinet approved a total of 10,900 Crore plan to supply electric buses and to support the installation of more than 72,000 charging stations between cities and highways, and aimed to reduce “Range Anxiety” among electric vehicle users.
The program will allocate a total of 4,391 CRORE for the purchase of 14,028 electric buses in nine cities exceeding 40 Lakhs, including Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Sul, Bengaluru, Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad.
