Accel Regs India Playbook, manufacturing bets led by IP after the previous Misses

Climate technology and sustainability, agritech and electric vehicles, such as Accel’s theses for India, as well as the global venture capital company hoped, as well as exploded. However, this did not prevent Accel from identifying its landscapes on what he calls advanced manufacturing, where the firm plans to make important bets from the last $ 650 million fund.
Accel Prashath Prakash, Prach Prakash, said in an interview, “At least I don’t think he lives close to the potential of climate technology in India, and I think the same globally the same thing for some other countries.”
In the field of Agritech, Accel’s investment in Aggrostar is among a few people who are expected to pay. The VC company led the 6.7 million dollar donation collection tour in April for Pune -based initiative, which offers seeds and farming advice to farmers.
As for the consumption sector, Prakash said that Accel continues to be positive, but that both VCs and initiatives should find “new paradigms yerine instead of building another Swiggy or Flipkart.
“I don’t think you can do the same thing. We believe that the existing platforms are very strong, but this is about finding new consumption pockets beyond the best 100 cities,” Prakash said. “We’re trying to go double, but it’s still the first days.”
Accel’s investments in India’s consumption sector include Bengaluru-centered grocery chain APNA March, 2023, starting from an investment of 10 million dollars in an investment of 10 million dollars and VC’s e-commerce platform Citymall, which directed a round of 11 million dollars in 2021.
Although Climate Tech and Agitech did not play as Accel hoped, the investment company expects Indian initiatives to play a role to play in the field of global energy transition.
“I think it comes to hardware and components. For example, how do you create rare engines, Prak said Prakash.
Accel has invested in what he calls electric vehicle components, but they remain unaware. Such areas, where intellectual property (IP) are very important, believe that the country can shine fast.
India’s advanced production as a trench
Accel’s increasing focus on production in India comes at a time when geopolitical uprisings cause companies to look out of China for the needs of companies in the world. India is trying to position itself as the most suitable option.
What calls forward production is actually the place where initiatives create capabilities in terms of IP and engineering-bond. “Initiatives in this field benefit from innovation in several dimensions, but may be more than one, Prak said Prakash.
The three innovation archetypes that accelerate the beginnings are product -led, process leadership and equipment leadership.
Examples of each archetype’s initiatives include gas turbine company Nabhdrishti Aviation, special chemical manufacturer Scimplify and carbon fiber and composite manufacturer Fabheads.
Accel sees innovations from each of these archetypes, such as aviation and defense, electronic components, medical devices, space, automobiles, chemicals and home -based components.
According to a Teamlease report, India produces approximately 1.5 million engineers each year, but only 10% of them find jobs. However, with production collection, Accel believes that these engineers can find employment in the sector.
“India’s talent engineering pool has always been redesigned. It was always for coding. Engineering ability was completely lost,” Prakash said.
