War Room established to monitor Dang cases in Yadgir in Karnataka

With the establishment of a war room in the Regional Hospital, the Health and Family Welfare Department attempted to deal with the Dang cases in the Yadgir region in Karnataka.

Patients with travel history and two medical personnel were sent in the war room to monitor the treatment given to them. They will also give them advice to measures.

“This is the routine process that the department undertakes every year between June and September. This period is considered the most important one to attack Dang.

On the other hand, the department performed medical examinations of the sample collected from suspected patients to detect the disease.

1,364 sample has been tested since January, and 27 of them have been confirmed by Dang’s disease, ”he said.

Asha workers visit the houses every Friday and organize a larvae survey. They take action to eliminate such larvae to prevent the spread of the disease.

According to the guidelines given by the Karnataka government, a house where two dang cases are reported will be called a hot point in such a house. Officers will distribute Neem oil to patients to refer to the body to avoid possible mosquito bites.

Dang is a viral infection transmitted to humans by biting infected mosquitoes. The person will be exposed to fever, headache and body pain after being bitten by infected mosquitoes.

Sajid, “People should maintain the cleaning of their environment and continue to clean the stored water. Old unused tires, coconut shells and mosquitoes should be sure that the eggs are not placed next to the houses,” he said.

In 2023, 2,856, for example, was tested and 93 danga cases were reported. In 2024, 137 cases were positive after testing 4,746, for example. In 2025 (so far), 27 cases reported that it was positive after tested 1,290, for example.
